It’s Time for a New Conversation About Fuel
As the industry slowly begins to recover, the pressure to lower project costs is constant. On top of that, construction costs, like fuel, continue to increase. So the real challenge is how to recoup those higher costs without submitting higher bids.
Since fuel is as much as 50% of the operating cost of a machine, it just makes sense that one of the areas OEMs would focus on would be fuel efficiency. At Caterpillar, we believe that increasing the fuel efficiency of our machines is only a first step.
To truly have a meaningful impact on the bottom line, we have to take action.
As a starting point, Caterpillar has put together information on key factors that affect your fuel efficiency the most: idle time, operator technique, equipment selection, technology and jobsite set up.
It’s time to rethink the tank.
