STEP INSIDE THE CAB OF THE REDESIGNED 730/730 EJ
Safe. Comfortable. Convenient. Easy to operate. The new operator station on Cat® 730 and 730 EJ (Ejector) Articulated Trucks delivers all that and a lot more. Here’s what you can expect when you step into the cab and get behind the controls:
Better sightlines. A new external “spinal ROPS” design eliminates a structural pillar, so it’s easier to see out the back of the truck. New cab-mounted mirrors — including a front-visibility mirror — improve sightlines all around. You can also add long-range LED work lights for even more visibility.
Less dust, noise and discomfort. A lighter, stronger door with shut-assist seals out dust, and inside sound levels are lower compared to previous models. For comfort, the cab features automatic climate-control, left- and right-hand sliding windows and a heated/cooled seat with added cushioning — plus optional infrared glass that reduces solar heating.
Easier control. The combined transmission-and-hoist lever automates repetitive operations and reduces effort. Assisted hoisting control — which automatically applies the waiting brake, shifts the transmission to neutral and raises the body to maximum angle — is available with the flip of a switch. There’s also a shift-protection system that brings the truck to a safe stop if you make a directional shift while in motion.
Safer, smoother ride. Cat Advanced Automatic Traction Control proactively applies differential locks to avoid wheel spin, and a “terrain-based” throttle-smoothing system prevents acceleration surges — ideal when traveling over rough terrain, where it’s tricky to keep steady pressure on the throttle pedal. The standard Cat Detect/Stability-Assist system alerts you if the truck approaches the set threshold angle and stops the dump process if there’s a risk of tipping.
You’ll find plenty of other great features outside the cab as well, including a fuel-saving ECO mode, a new external lighting system and optional Cat Payload technology that calculates payload and provides an external indicator of payload levels to the loader operator.
